The smash hit dice game just got remodeled!
Your favorite lovably quirky city is back at it again! Welcome to Machi Koro 2, where new adventures await, but the bakeries and business centers are still abundant. In Machi Koro 2, veteran players will notice some big changes.
The cards in this set have exciting, never-before-seen effects. But choose what you build wisely, as your landmarks might also benefit your opponents! With more variety than ever before, no two games will be the same. Machi Koro 2 will have fans visiting again and again!
Roll dice
Choose to roll 1 or 2 dice. The number you roll will activate cards with the matching number. But be careful - this might activate cards in other players’ cities too!
Activate buildings
Blue cards activate on anyone’s turn, Red cards activate on other players’ turns, while Purple and Green cards only activate on your turn. Stay on your toes, even if it’s not your turn!
Buy new cards
Spend coins to gain 1 new card from any of the three market rows. The top row has cards that activate with lower numbers. The middle row has cards that activate on high numbers. And the bottom row has 20 unique Landmark cards.
Win the game
The first player to buy 3 Landmarks wins the game! Each Landmark built increases the cost of your next one and adds exciting new effects to the game that could change everyone’s strategy!
Machi Koro 2 is a standalone game, which presents a new variation on the gameplay introduced in the original Machi Koro. This new game cannot be combined with the original Machi Koro game or its expansions.
The main differences between Machi Koro 2 and the original Machi Koro include some gameplay tweaks and some quality of life improvements.
- No one begins with cards. Now, players complete a buying phase before beginning the game. This lets them customize their strategy depending on the cards available in the variable market.
- 20 unique Landmarks present new and exciting ways to play, as the game rules will change slightly each time a Landmark is built. These cards increase depending on if it’s your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Landmark built.
- Players can choose to roll 1 or 2 dice from the very start of the game, letting you focus on your strategy instead of unlocking the ability later in the game.
- If you have no money at the start of the build phase, gain 1 coin from the bank. This keeps the momentum and excitement of the game moving!
- Since the original 2014 version, the Machi Koro line has received component upgrades, including bigger cards, bigger dice, plastic coins, and updated graphic design.
